A Joyful Wife

Funny how in your home the simplest thing can remind you of something so meaningful and special.

My household blessings began a little earlier than usual, at about 3 a.m. and even then I was telling myself how we should sacrifice for our families, sleep included.

Loving them and taking care of them has it's rewards and whether we see them now or later, we must know they do exist alhamdulilah

I went to wash my dishes this morning and sometimes I might be super tired, or ready to sit down but this morning was pretty different. I never paid attention to the dish detergent until this morning and saw it was called Joy...  I wonder why they named it Joy.. is it because they want people to be happy to wash dishes, feel a sense of gratitude to have dishes to wash, or could it be taking Joy in taking care of your family. How about all those things!

That's what I got out of my bottle of Joy, and some clean dishes to match alhamdulilah. I decided to keep the bottle, it's nearly empty…

The Rahmah of Raha Soaps!

Alhamdulilah my family was blessed the past week to receive our package of hand made soaps from Raha Soaps!

Okay I must admit that even the box (before I opened it) smelled so good mashaAllah.

What fits my homemaking heart and living is that Raha Soaps are homemade, and hand made. Each soap takes a lot of time (about 3-6 weeks) to make, but each bar is made with patience and love. Love of making soaps and love of giving their customers natural, great quality, and wonderful soaps. How can you not love that?

I opened the package on the train and there were quite a few wonderful smells:

Lavender
Ginger Lime Coconut
Palmroasa
Turkish Coffee
and Sweet Orange Patchouli which is My husband's favorite one.

I enjoyed their soaps so much that I have decided to buy them on a regular bases inshaAllah. I used the chamomile soap on the children at night, for their night time bath. They loved the smell, so much so that I had to hide the bar from them, because they constantly wanted to smell and …

Bread Making...Thoughts

This is a special task...one that I am so glad I started, in almost 6 years of marriage I am just learning over the winter that making bread calms my heart, gives me peace of mind, brings me closer to Allah, and is a good memory my children will have. People use shopping and other things as a means to rid of stress and feel good...for me it is baking bread..kneading the dough is something I enjoy...I also feel more motherly, watching my children eat their bread ..bread that "Ummi made"

Over the past couple months we have not bought store bread.. another plus for making my own bread alhamdulilah.

Sisters, this makes for a great after fajr treat... such a wonderful feeling to rise early.. pray ..and put a lot of love and dhikr into each kneading of the bread..each mixture of the ingredients. What a wonderful way to reflect and get closer to Allah

Who knew bread making had so many benefits?

Good for your health, good for your heart and good for your iman
